Veronica spends her days working in education equity as director of an academic support program for women in science and engineering. She also serves on the boards of the Chicago Abortion Fund and Women In Media & News. Veronica has been an active NOW member since 2000 by serving at the local level (vice-president of the Chicago chapter) and the national level (national board member, member of the Equal Marriage committee and Mothers & Caregivers Economic Rights committee). In October 2007, Veronica blogged the opening of a Planned Parenthood clinic that was besieged by anti-choice activists at http://ppaurora.blogspot.com. She also blogs at http://vivalafeminista.blogspot about the intersection of motherhood (she has a pre-school aged daughter), feminism, and being a Latina. Sometimes she feels sorry that her husband is the only male in their home as even their dachshund is a girl.
