Susanna Smith has served as the Communications Program Officer at the International Women's Health Coalition since November 2007. In this role, Susanna manages the development of imaginative and high quality print and electronic materials promoting IWHC’s work to secure the right of every woman to a just and healthy life.

Susanna holds a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University. Prior to working with IWHC, she worked for the International Trachoma Initiative developing advocacy and communications strategies in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Ghana, including the development of a film that was screened at the Global Health Council. Previously, she worked for the Women’s Health and Human Right Initiative, on women-led advocacy projects to demand accountability for human rights abuses and at the American Medical Association, developing medical ethics educational materials for medical students and doctors. Susanna is a member of the American Public Health Association.
