Sheila Luecht
About MeLuecht has been a volunteer, board member, consultant and employee for various non profit organizations and associations. She has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals since 1997. Luecht has been affiliated with the American Association of University Women, American Cancer Society, Cancer Resource Center, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Gender Equity Advisory Council, Agency for Developmentally Delayed and Disabled Individuals, Family Health Partnership Clinic, Homeless Women's Shelter, McHenry County Youth Service Bureau, March of Dimes, MCCC, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, the Crane Group, League of Women Voters, and Erie Neighborhood House. Working as a volunteer, or as a paid contract employee, Luecht has created relationships with local and national media, written press releases, staged media events, press conferences, created media strategies, designed public relations vehicles, acted as a spokesperson, speech writer, wrote opinion editorials, letters to the editor and developed print marketing. Luecht has planned, produced fund raising events, and developed marketing strategies, as well as foundation goals and new funding strategies. She has print, radio, cable television and television experience and created and coordinated two major media events on behalf of the UnitedAgainstHate Campaign of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights in Chicago to support National Hate Crimes Legislation. She is known in state government, Washington DC, and in both statewide and national organizations. Luecht has national and international travel experience and living abroad experience. She participated as a member of the Illinois Assembly on Political Representation and Alternative Electoral Systems in October 2000. Luecht was a featured speaker on behalf of Women in Politics, for the MS. Foundation Whitehouse Project event, AAUW, and the Women's Leadership Council. She was honored by AAUW Illinois as the Agent of Change, 2000 selected out of 4000 women in Illinois and honored as a Rising Star of the Women's Leadership Council of Northern Illinois, 2001. Luecht was again honored February 2002 by the March of Dimes for volunteer leadership. Luecht held the position of Director of Communications, AAUW, Illinois, Inc., was Crystal Lake Area Branch President and served on the State Public Policy Committee. She is a 2006 Graduate of the Elgin Leadership Academy. Luecht was honored in October 2006 for her work on a capital campaign for a new building supporting the disabled. She is respected in diverse communities for work on human rights.
