Rebecca Medina

Rebecca conducts research and policy analysis to advance the Institute’s national policy agenda and legislative priorities.

Rebecca most recently served as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Edward Roybal Public Health Fellow for Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, where she developed legislative priorities for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Health Task Force. Previously, she was the Project Coordinator for the National Council of La Raza/California State University Long Beach Center for Latino Community Health, Evaluation, and Leadership Training. Her other experiences in the health arena include working for AltaMed Health Services Corporation and the County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health. Rebecca’s passion for women’s health and reproductive justice has led her to manage health programs for underserved Latino communities, immigrant Latinas, and promotores through research and education. Her recent work on cervical cancer and Latinas was published in the Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy entitled, Latinas and Cervical Cancer, a Preventable Disease.

Rebecca is a first-generation Mexican-American, originally from Whittier, CA. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Health Care Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Loma Linda School of Public Health.
