About MeLaura McTighe began work on HIV and prison issues over ten years ago in the Philadelphia
restorative justice and AIDS activist movements, serving as the founding
Director of Prison Services for Philadelphia FIGHT and co-creator of
TEACH Outside, a leadership program for people with HIV who are recently
released from prison. In her research and organizing, Laura continues
to focus on building community-led responses to address HIV, imprisonment,
and intersecting social justice issues. She earned her Masters of Theological
Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and is completing a manuscript
exploring HIV/AIDS, gender justice and economic justice through the
stories of Muslim women living with HIV in the United States and South
Africa.
