Christy Hall is a co-founder of the Birth Attendants and worked as a doula and organizer with the group consistently from December of 2002 until June of 2006. She now continues her work with The Birth Attendants as Development Coordinator and works on other special projects with the organization. In her other organizing work, she continues to focus on reproductive justice and the rights of incarcerated people. She is involved with an organization called the New Leadership Networking Initiative (NLNI), a project of the Civil Liberties and Policy Program at Hampshire College.

The majority of women in prison are mothers of minor children, and women are the fastest-growing prison population in the country. We need to recognize and treat with compassion the humanity of these mothers.
