Casey Martinson is the Director of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes (PPSFL). He oversees grassroots organizing efforts, writes for the agency’s newsletter CHOICE, blogs for PPSFL Writes, and helps manage content for the affiliate's social media efforts. Roe at 39: Sometimes the Sky Does Fall

Earlier this week, Washington Post columnist David Milbank leveled criticism at both sides of the debate over reproductive rights. He said the pro-choice crowd should “drop the sky-is-falling warnings about Roe and acknowledge that…not every compromise means a slippery slope to the back alley." Unfortunately, Milbank is being more than a little naïve.

If you are a woman who wants to have a better education, a bigger voice in government, considerably less risk of dying while pregnant, more equality with men, and better living conditions all around, you want to live in a pro-choice country. And as a man who thinks that equality is essential to a civil society, so do I.
