Andrea Miller is the president of NARAL Pro-Choice New York and the National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH). With more than twenty years’ experience in reproductive rights and women’s health, Andrea most recently served for nearly four years as Executive Director at NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts. Prior to that, Andrea was a principal and co-owner at Public Interest Media Group (PIMG), a national communications and public affairs firm based in New York City. During her eight years there, Andrea provided strategic consulting services to a host of organizations including Advocates for Youth, the Guttmacher Institute, Ms. Foundation for Women, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Reproductive Health Technologies Project, United Nations Development Fund for Women, and the White House Project, among others. She was instrumental in creating and implementing the reproductive health community’s messaging around bringing Plan B over the counter. Andrea also helped found the Center for Reproductive Rights and served as communications and public affairs director for its first five years, where she crafted and implemented public affairs strategies around high-profile Supreme Court cases such as Planned Parenthood v. Casey as well as federal and state policies affecting women’s health and rights. She started her professional career at the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. Miller has a Masters of Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Columbia College, Columbia University. She is a native of Minnesota.

This year, the Back Up Your Birth Control campaign is addressing the lies head-on. Our theme is as simple as it is scientifically accurate: EC=BC. EC is a form of birth control. There is no controversy here, and the scientific and medical communities are unanimous. EC=BC.

New York's Universal Comprehensive Sex Ed Mandate: The Radical Notion Our Kids Might Learn Facts

For decades, students’ likelihood of receiving sex ed in NYC public schools has come down to the luck of the draw. New York City’s universal standard for sex education, announced in August, seeks to put an end to the loose patchwork of programs across the city. But the usual suspects are using fear-mongering and falsehoods to push their agenda of ignorance.
