Amie Newman is the Managing Editor for RH Reality Check. She writes regularly about a variety of reproductive health issues but is most interested in issues of access to care and maternal health. Amie's professional advocacy for women started at the Northwest Women's Law Center and continued at Aradia Women's Health Center where, for seven years, she directed the feminist abortion clinic's communications and outreach activities. Amie was also on the original Board of Directors for the amazing publication Our Truths/Nuestras Verdades. She currently sits on Seattle's Family Planning Advisory Board. Amie lives in Seattle with her family: her designer/musician husband, two beautiful and crazy children, a lazy black lab, an endlessly energetic border collie/lab puppy, three chickens and a pair of fire-bellied toads.
