As the Advocacy and Outreach Associate, Ms. Whipkey is responsible for implementing the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE’s) outreach, advocacy, partnership development, and grassroots mobilization around U.S. global policy and legislative issues related to sexual and reproductive health and rights. Prior to joining CHANGE, Ms. Whipkey served as the Maine Grassroots Organizer for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) where she identified, educated, and mobilized supporters around local legislation affecting the sexual and reproductive health and rights of Maine women and girls. Ms. Whipkey graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a secondary concentration in Women and Gender Studies

Yesterday the FDA approved the second-generation female condom, expanding the "prevention toolkit" and offering women a less expensive contraceptive and STI prevention option.
