Many people, queer-identified or not, assume that the term "transgender" refers only to specific individuals who have sexual reassignment surgery, but that is not the case.

Racism isn't just open and direct bigotry, it is privilege plus power. You can choose how to use white privilege, but you cannot choose whether you have it or not. At Creating Change, we outlined the foundations of anti-racist organizing.

At the Creating Change conference, I learned that the key to movement building is bringing everyone to the table by creating the message that our issues are all tied to human rights.
