Centre for Bio-ethical Reform

Key Leaders

Gregg Cunningham, Esquire

This former appointee to Ronald Reagan is a lawyer who has personally contributed to the drafting of several states' laws prohibiting the use of Medicaid for abortions.

Lois Cunningham, R.N.

His wife operates Crisis Pregnancy Centres.

Organizational Background and Activities

The Centre for Bio-Ethical reform has two missions:  criminalize abortion and influence public opinion so as to spread anti-choice messages.  It is based in California, however it has offshoots in other countries such as Canada.

The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) is aimed at college campuses.  As you can see from this link, the CBR takes its agenda beyond international borders.  (Also note the members ofthe anti-choice student group at the University of Calgary are reading awkwardly off of prepared statements to the media).  The Matt 28:20 project is a similar campaign aimed at religious organizations.

The CBR uses the threat of litigation to frighten and immobilize pro-choice groups who protest the GAP on the grounds that it constitutes hate material, among other criticisms of the CBR's activities.  In a section entitled Lawsuits, CBR director Gregg Cunningham gleefully taunts pro-choice activists and other potential critics of his organization.  "You lie [about the activities of the CBR] and we sue. If we sue, we win. If you don’t believe us, just try us."

Funding and Budget

They are rather proud of the way they spend their budget - 84% supposedly goes to programs for saving babies.

Related Rhetoric

Well, It is really factual! I hope that it would be work in hand. It is somewhat related to Dave Ramsey is holding a Town Hall for Hope. While cynics might immediately jump on the chance to ridicule the title, Dave Ramsey is more aimed at hope for better finances, and spreading sound financial decisions and budgeting. His strategy is simple – it's called the Debt Snowball, where you pay off the smallest balances first, repairing credit through baby steps. He also advocates building up three to six months of savings, starting a college fund for your children, and putting up to 15% of household income towards retirement in a Roth IRA or other pre-tax retirement accounts. It could be worth sshort term loans to go see Dave Ramsey and the Town Hall for Hope.

Why should we deny individuals with the right to self-determination, to enact choices for their own lives and to live according to humanist conduct of individual growth and respect?

Why we need to avoid the human right for this campaign.

I hope that the issues mentioned here would be resolved eventually so that everyone would be satisfied. Doing a compromise may also be a possible solution.

I totally agree with that. The sooner these issues are resolved, the better everyone will be in my opinion! I think the article was great and really well written. Keep up the good work!

I find the spam filter on your site totally unacceptable. No wonder people dislike it a great deal.

The context of abortion has been debated over the years. Claims as to how one can set up the criteria to determine if an embryo is already a 'living thing' or not. However, morality is still the main mover for the criminalization of abortion.

Does anyone have the right to choose what a woman does to her body? There are moral issues of course over whether or not you agree with abortion in general but the fact is is that there are still rights to every person over their own body.

The question of abortion is complex issue.Nobody can judge the woman if it's right or not. But fact is that the abortion can not bring the happiness. I am against abortation, but we should understand and help these girls.
