Video: Next Generation of FL Planned Parenthood Activists Protect Access to Women's Health Care in DC

In July 2009, 12 young leaders from Florida joined over 200 of
their peers from across the nation at the Planned Parenthood Youth
Organizing and Policy Summit. A sea of bright pink health care
T-shirts took over Capitol Hill, as Planned Parenthood young activists
visited members of Congress to ensure that access to women's health
care is included in health care reform. Watch the video here...

Teen Pregnancy in the Spotlight

There is much controversy over shows such as “16 and
Pregnant” on the MTV network and the media coverage of high-profile
teen pregnancies, like that of Jamie-Lynn Spears or Bristol Palin. The
dilemma: Is this sort of attention bringing awareness of the harsh
realities of teen pregnancy - providing a teachable moment on an issue
that should matter to the American public? Or, does this attention
serve only to romanticize the concept of giving birth in one’s teen
years… and normalizing it in the process?

Finding Common Ground

On Saturday, June 6th, anti-choice extremists across the country
gathered around doctors’ offices, health centers, pharmacies and public
spaces to protest something that most American women have used or will
use at some point in their life, and a majority of Americans strongly
support: birth control.
