Created Equal

First off, I must tell: this is the first attempt I've made at a reader diary on this site, despite being an avid reader and commenter. Hopefully, I'll get better!

I have to say. I really hate it when the anti-choicers have a cool idea. The newest anti-choice organization has now co-opted the Declaration of Independence and its famous line "All men are created equal." I kind of wish I'd thought of it for a pro-choice organization.

Its stated purpose is to "condemn prejudices which strip individuals of their personhood status." Naturally, in their world, an embryo/fetus is a person exactly like the woman pregnant with said entity. Sad isn't it, when good phrases get co-opted by bad organizations? Also sad - the idea that a fully grown woman (and man!) is now equated with a zygote.
