Tuesday on Capitol Hill Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Senator Frank Lautenburg re-introduced the REAL Act, federal legislation that would for the first time in history put federal dollars toward comprehensive sex education.

Yesterday, Congressional Democrats took a tentative step towards eliminating abstinence-only funding with a $14 million reduction. That still leaves $95 million in taxpayer money thrown down the drain.

Tomorrow will bring a winner of the long-awaited Georgia Senate race between Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss and former Representative Democrat Jim Martin. If Martin wins, a Democratic super majority in Congress could help to pass some critical pro-choice, progressive policies.
