A district judge ruled this morning that the controversial law will not go into effect until at least January 21 of next year, when it will receive another hearing.

The Center for Reproductive Rights has filed a lawsuit against the newly passed Oklahoma requirement that a women seeking an abortion must have ultrasound and listen while her doctor describes the image in detail, irrespective of her wishes.

Louisiana, Oklahoma legislatures take steps towards requiring women seeking abortions to view ultrasounds and hear a description. Meanwhile South Carolina considers a compromised version of their "ultrasound bill" which wouldn't require an ultrasound at all.

The Oklahoma House today passed a bill stating that a woman must view an ultrasound at least one hour prior to receiving an abortion. The bill now moves on to the Senate.
