With the selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate and the most extremely
anti-choice platform in GOP history, pro-choice Republicans may be feeling left out of their own party. But they have a voice that needs to be heard, demonstrating that the majority of
Americans do not think Roe v. Wade should be overturned, and support
comprehensive sex-ed and access to contraception to prevent unintended
pregnancies.
RH Reality Check wants to hear from pro-choice Republicans about
your views on this election, if you are optimistic about reclaiming a
moderate voice in your party in the future, why you are pro-choice and
Republican and your views on the best ways to prevent unintended
pregnancies. We want to hear your personal stories about why you've
held on to your pro-choice views even as your party has moved further
and further to the right.
Send us 500-750 words or send us the URL to your You Tube video response and we'll pick several to publish for a
special series. We hope to use this contest to find more regular
pro-choice Republican contributors to our site, but you need not be
interested in writing for us regularly to enter this contest. Please send your submissions no later than September 26, 2008.
We look forward to hearing from you.
