Gov. Doyle: No Prosecution for Sex Ed Teachers

Wisconsin Gov. Doyle reaffirms no teachers will be prosecuted for providing sex ed in schools, despite a D.A.'s claims.

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle stated publicly that despite the scare tactics of Juneau County District Attorney Scott Southworth, no teacher who teaches sex education in Wisconsin schools will be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Gov. Doyle, who signed the Healthy Youth Act into law in February, said “no matter what the views of one particular district attorney are,”  those who follow the state law need not worry about potential prosecution.

D.A. Southworth, who has a history of using his position as a prosecutor to promote his religious beliefs, has earned extensive accolades from the anti-choice group Pro-Life Wisconsin, who say he is “unwavering in his defense of the disabled and strongly supports establishing legal personhood for preborn children.”
