Voters Support Obama's Pro-Choice Position

Emily Douglas's picture

The American Civil Liberties Union, NARAL Pro-Choice America, National Women's Law Center, Planned Parenthood Action Fund and others today released a survey showing that knowledge of Barack Obama's and Joe Biden's pro-choice positions tended to increase a voter's likelihood of supporting the ticket. Large majorities recognized the differences between the Obama/Biden position on abortion, birth control, and sex ed and that of Republican nominees John McCain and Sarah Palin.

In a statement, the groups say, "The survey's findings dispute the long-held conventional wisdom that self-described pro-life voters are more intense in their support of candidates who share their views." An election eve survey of 1,200 voters found that 39 percent were much more likely to support a pro-choice ticket, while only 19 percent were much less likely to support a pro-choice ticket.

How do we, as women, feel about this?

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."- Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 in a letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts.

I think the point is that anyone who supports personal liberty is a racist? Crazy logic from the misinformed?

My thought was that the poster was trying to suggest that Obama supports genocide/hates black people, but thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I was kind of hoping the person wasn't quite that moronic.
