Not only did the Diane Rehm Show spend an hour today analyzing the nuances of the American Psychological Association’s findings that abortion does not increase mental health risk for women, but the Brian Lehrer Show brought listeners two reproductive health experts — Dr. Robert Fullilove, Researcher and STD Prevention Expert at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Dr. Rachel Jones, Senior Research Associate at Guttmacher Institute — to discuss the comparatively high rate of abortion in New York and the higher rate of abortion among African-American women. Later on the show, host Alice Rhee talked to Ted Bunch, who runs the Domestic Violence Accountability Program in Brooklyn, to the show. Bunch wants to reframe domestic violence as a men’s issue and argues that sexism, not anger management, is behind domestic violence.
