American Life League: More Evidence Ideologues Long on Rhetoric, Short on Solutions

Judie, Judie, Judie. What can anyone say about Judie Brown, President of the American Life League (ALL) that she hasn't already said about herself? Not much, so here she is in her own words:

“We are laying the groundwork for a Christian movement that will dictate to politicians what it means to be prolife.”

On the issues, Judie Brown and ALL are equally clear:

Over-the-counter sales of emergency contraception are “the most dangerous announcement a US government agency has made in recent memory.”

“Teens are not biologically programmed to have sex as much as they’re indoctrinated to do so.” Just in case you're wondering, that indoctrination comes from Planned Parenthood. Yeah, I remember it now, right between recess and gym class.

These and other priceless gems can be found in the excellently researched new report from Catholics For A Free Choice entitled American Life League: More Interested in Making a Statement than Making a Difference." This publication joins others in CFFC's "Opposition Notes" series.

Among many stories the report details how one of ALL's board members, "confronted an abortion practitioner at his home so aggressively that an FBI probe ensued and a court settlement ultimately required the antichoice activists to stay 45 feet away from the doctor’s home and refrain from rifling through his garbage."

Media reports included in the publication note that a former publications manager had “complained to the IRS and elsewhere that the Browns [had] allegedly been personally enriching themselves through the league’s transactions with Mr. Brown and his business interests.”

ALL is documented in our own About The Right section on this site, as are many other organizations on the ideological right that seem to have more money and rhetoric than common sense solutions to real world problems.
