Fifth Circuit Grants Emergency Motion by Texas to Stay Decision in Planned Parenthood Case
The battle over Texas' Women's Health Program -- and women's health -- continues.
This morning, Fifth Circuit Judge Jerry Smith granted an emergency motion filed last night by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbot to stay a decision yesterday by federal judge Lee Yeakal to block de-funding of Planned Parenthood affiliates by the state’s Women’s Health Program.
In granting the motion, Smith requested a response from Planned Parenthood by 5 p.m. today.
