Christ the King's principal is now back from administrative leave, although it is unclear if students are still protesting abortion or not.

Principal David Hood is back at Christ The King after being put on administrative leave for proposing students receive community service credits for praying outside a health clinic as part of “40 Days for Life.”  But although it appears students will no longer receive community service credit for the activity, there will still be anti-choice activities promoted at the school.

A Roman Catholic school principal is back on the job after being placed on leave for allegedly offering credits to students to attend a pro-life rally.

David Hood, principal at Christ the King, a K-Grade 8 school in the city’s St. Vital neighbourhood, was asked to stay home nine days ago as the board of directors reviewed the incident

An Oct. 24 letter to parents from the school board, local pastor and archbishop asks for their co-operation in re-establishing trust within the school.

The letter says Hood has resumed duties as principal and the school will seek ways to promote respect for human life in a way that is age-appropriate for youngsters.

Considering the fact that some anti-choice activists still believe that large graphic bloody “fetus” pictures are appropriate viewing for grade-schoolers, I’m not sure exactly how “age-appropriate” activities will be determined.
